Metallica take ownership of recordings in US, launch own label
Metallica have taken ownership of all their master recordings in the US, including all music and long-form videos and have launched their own label, Blackened Recordings.
As per their renegotiated joint venture agreement with Warner Music Group, all masters have reverted back to Metallica, according to a statement from the band.
In tandem with the news, the group have announced the launch of their new record label, Blackened Recordings, which will house their audio and video recordings.
