Metropolis Studios is set to launch the Metropolis Indie Music Festival from January 7 - 27, 2013.

For the inaugural event, Metropolis will offer access to studios and its team of award-winning engineers at a reduced rate for a three-week period to a select group of emerging artists that are self-funded or signed to independent labels.

Artists who wish to apply for this access should download the form on Metropolis’ website and return to indielabelfestival@metropolis-group.co.uk by November 8.

A team from Metropolis and its partners will consult and select the artists they feel will gain the most from the experience and opportunity offered by the event. All successful applicants will be notified by early December and dates will be offered at that time.

Artists selected for the festival can hire the studios for between £300-£400 per day, a rate that includes studio hire, engineer and assistant costs.

In addition, Metropolis has partnered with The Vinyl Factory in Hayes to offer an exclusive discount for the artists involved in the festival to enjoy discounted manufacture rates on vinyl and CD production.

Metropolis has also partnered with Pledge to enable artists to self-fund to apply for the scheme.

Sam Wheat, Chief Engineer, Metropolis said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for Metropolis to discover and support new talent.

Festival organiser Tamsin McLarty added: “We have been an established studio for over 23 years and feel strongly that the time is right to support the extraordinary talent that exists across the country. This festival is part of a wide range of new services and opportunities offered by Metropolis as we continue to expand our reach in to all elements of the music business.”
