MITS raises more than £250,000 for charity

This year's MITS Award gala evening in honour of Simon Cowell raised more than £250,000 for Nordoff Robbins and The BRIT Trust, it has been announced.

The Syco Entertainment chief received the award from One Direction on Monday (November 2) at London's Grosvenor House Hotel in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the music and entertainment industry, plus many charitable causes.

More than 1,200 people attended the event, which featured performances from Olly Murs, Leona Lewis, Labrinth and Il Divo.
