Mobos under fire for lack of soul

The Mobo awards may have bought back the jazz award category after widespread complaints last year, but the event faces criticism again this year for its continued lack of a soul award.

In the second year of its campaign to instigate a soul award, black music monthly Echoes launched an attack on the organisers of the Mobos saying, "Contrary to the impression often given by the Mobos, there is more to current popular black music then hip hop and R&B/pop.
