MPs on the DCMS Select Committee have recommended Government extends the penalty for serious cases of online piracy to 10 years imprisonment.
The Committee points out that copyright theft in the ‘offlice world’ can attract up to 10-years in prison but the maximum pentalty for digital copyright theft currently stands at two years.
