The contenders for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards have been announced, with Rihanna and Drake leading the list boasting five nominations each.
Rihanna’s We Found Love is up for Video of the Year as well as Best Female Video and Best Pop Video. The video for the single Where Have You Been is up for Best Choreography and Best Visual Effects.
Drake is nominated for Take Care feat. Rihanna in Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography. The American singer is also up for Best Hip-Hop Video for the HYFR single featuring Lil Wayne.
Other nominations include Katy Perry for four awards – including Video of the Year for Wide Awake - Frank Ocean for three awards and Nicki Minaj for two awards.
