Forrester Research looked at the 65 videos that, cumulatively, have more than 100m views and found that 57% were music videos. Only 17% were user-generated videos.
The company analysed the 100 Million Views Club data compiled by online video metrics company Visible Noise to track the most-viewed viral videos of all time.
With 7.2m views to date, Crank Dat by Soulja Boy was the top video.
