New anti-piracy front opened as film industry targets ISPs over Newzbin

UK-based service Newzbin, which has an estimated 700,000 members, is accused of serious copyright infringements even though it only provides curated links to, rather than hosts, illegal music, film and other content.

In the first case of its kind, the MPA's is targeting BT as the largest ISP in the country, demanding it blocks its 5.6m customers from accessing the site. If the case in the High Court in London is successful, it will then target other ISPs.
