Global music recordings body the IFPI has announced a new annual global chart that reveals the most successful sales acts of the year - taking into account physical and dowload sales as well as streams.

One Direction top the list for 2013, after seeing huge success with their third studio album Midnight Memories, which contained the hit singles Best Song Ever and Story of My Life.
