Nile Rodgers will receive the BMI Icon Award at the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards this August.

The Chic co-founder has been named recipient for his extensive catalogue of work, which includes recent work with the likes of Daft Punk, as well as his influence on popular music. With more than 200 production credits, 17 BMI Awards, and three Grammy Awards, Rodgers transcends music genres.
