It took Capital FM three months to play a One Direction song after the Syco-signed boyband thanked rival Radio 1 at the Brit Awards in February.
But it appears the hatchet has now been buried between the two parties with Capital FM - owned by Global, who also managed 1D rival The Wanted - announcing that One Direction will play its Jingle Bell Ball in London in December.
Taking place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December at London’s O2 Arena, One Direction, Bruno Mars, JLS, Lawson, Little Mix, The Script and Rizzle Kicks will kick off day one of the event, alongside Cheryl Cole. The second day's line-up is yet to be announced.
Tickets for day one are on general release today at www.capitalfm.com and the ticket hotline 0330 33 33 958
Day two of the event will take place on Sunday December 9, and the array of artists set to perform will be announced on Capital FM next weekend.
Ashley Tabor, Global’s Founder and Executive President said: “The line up for this year’s Jingle Bell Ball is superb. We’ll be kicking off the festive season with an incredible show yet again!”
The Jingle Bell Ball, now in its fifth year, has featured some of the biggest pop music artists in the world, and supports Capital FM’s flagship charity, Help a Capital Child.
For the first time ever, fans of the station can now watch the exclusive Jingle Bell Ball build up on Capital TV. Tune in on Sky channel 388, Freesat 517, online at www.capitalfm.com or via the brand new Capital FM apps for iPad and iPhone.
