One Direction vying for historic US number one album
The Syco album was released in the States this week on the back of an incredible build for the boy band whose first single What Makes You Beautiful last month became the highest charting entry by a debuting UK act on the Hot 100 since The Verve in 1998 when it entered at 28. It has sold around 338,000 downloads to date in the US, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
