Music Week Awards 2016 - all the winners

One of the biggest surprise wins came from the Ticketing Company category, which went to the app Dice, while perhaps less surprising was XL Recordings taking home the award for Record Company. Atlantic Records once again scooped Promotions Team, as well as the A&R Award. The biggest award of the night, the coveted Strat, was bestowed on Universal's Max Hole. View all the winners here.

Shazam wins Webby Award for Best Music App

Shazam, has been selected as the 2016 Webby Award Winner in the Music: Mobile Sites & Apps category. In the same category, Shazam also took home a People’s Voice award, which was voted on by nearly 2.5 million users worldwide, the most in Webbys history. Now in its 20th year, the awards were named the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, and The Webby Awards are considered the leading international awards honoring excellence on the Internet. “To win both awards in this category is further validation that we are creating more meaningful, creative connections between artists and fans,” said Rich Riley, CEO, Shazam.

ADE reveals first keynote speakers and panel topics for 2016

The Amsterdam Dance Event has revealed the first keynote speakers and panel topics for 2016, including a keynote Q&A with Anthony Saleh on 21st century management, a keynote with COO of Red Light Management Bruce Eskowitz and Martin Goldschmidt on 30 years of Cooking Vinyl. ADE 2016 will take place from 19-23 October. Panel topics also revealed include: Best and Worst of being a label, Taking streaming mainstream and What do artists do all day?

Vevo has announced a new design, including a completely redesigned UI for desktop, mobile and tablet web that now matches the mobile app and tvOS experiences, Smart onboarding feature that asks you to select your favorite genres; then as you choose from among your favorite artists, personalized “Spotlight" feed of recommended videos and playlists and larger video player for a better viewing experience Improved streaming quality with HTML5. The home page will now include: Spotlight, new releases, top videos, featured playlists, genres, recently watched (much easier to navigate and discover new artists and videos)
