Oxegen festival cancelled due to 'lack of suitable headline acts'

Ireland's annual Oxegen festival has been cancelled for 2014.

A statement from festival organisers MCD said that a combination of "lack of suitable headline acts combined with the financial demands by local agencies make it no longer viable to stage the Festival in its current form".

Established in 2004 and held at Punchestown Racecourse in County Kildare every year apart from being rested  in 2012, the 2013 incarnation saw David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Snoop Dogg top the bill.
