Lynn Parsons is taking over as Smooth Radio's weekday mid-morning presenter following Mark Goodier's exit in December.
Currently host of the mid-morning weekend show, Parsons will switch to weekdays on Monday, December 17 with new recruit David Prever taking up her weekend role.
Real and Smooth Limited group programme director John Simons said: "It’s great to be able to make Lynn a permanent feature on the weekday schedule. She has a very warm yet knowledgeable style and is well liked by the listeners. She is also one of the UKs most experienced broadcasters. David has provided weekend cover on the station this year and I am delighted to welcome him as a permanent fixture in the schedule."
Parsons has been with Smooth for five years and has deputised for Goodier when he is on holiday. She has previously broadcast on Radios 1,2 and 3, the World Service, Capital Radio and Virgin Radio.
She said: "It’s always been a joy to look after mid-mornings when Mark has been on holiday so it will be a real adventure to be there every weekday morning with a large packet of chocolate biscuits and the best music you'll find anywhere on the radio."
Her weekend replacement Prever is a Sony Radio Academy Awards Gold winner and has worked for a number of stations across nearly three decades, including Jazz FM, Magic 105.4, talkSPORT and Heart 106.2 as well as presenting weekend shows on Smooth as a holiday relief.
Smooth said Goodier's departure after six years would allow him to dedciate more time to his Wish Buddah Group of companies where he is founder and chairman.
