Pete Doherty to work on new material with Carl Barat

Ex band members of The Libertines Pete Doherty and Carl Barat are planning to work on new material together, Doherty has said.

Speaking to online TV show Hernu & Harris Unhinged (via NME.com), Doherty – who was thrown out of a Thai rehab centre earlier this month - said that he is now back in Paris and has invited Barat to come over and work on some songs.

He said: "I spoke to Carl yesterday and he’s going to come out to Paris. Then maybe we'll go back out to Thailand together and do some writing."

The Libertines officially disbanded after their final gig in December 2004. Doherty formed Babyshambles, whilst Barat created Dirty Pretty Things.

Both Barat and Doherty have also released solo material - but have reunited for several gigs and surprise appearances since.
