Platinum, Gold and Silver disc awards to include streaming data for first time
The BPI's Certified Awards Programme, which awards Platinum, Gold and Silver disc certification status to music recordings at particular sales milestones, is to include audio streams for singles from next month.
In parallel with the Official Charts Company announcement that they will incorporate streams into the Official Singles Chart from Sunday July 6th, BPI certifications issued for singles achieving Silver (200,000 unit equivalents), Gold (400,000) and Platinum (600,000) status, will incorporate audio stream data from the same time.
