The Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) have called on ticket distributors to take better responsibility over the sale of fraudulent tickets as figures reveal that consumers handed over £3.7m to fraudsters in 2013.
Concert and festivalgoers were amongst the biggest victims with reports peaking in the music festival season.
A total of 4,555 reports were made last year and 22 victims lost £10,000 or more.
