Overall UK album sales have dropped in Q2 by 5.2%, as digital still shows potential for growth.
Some 19.5 million albums were sold over the last three months, according to BPI/Official Charts Company figures, with the artist albums market dropping 7.7% annually and compilations rallying by 5.8%.
Digital album sales were up 10.2% to 7.9 million units, but this growth was not enough to cancel out a 14.4% fall in the CD albums sector.
