Jay Z has hit back at Billboard after the music magazine refused to allow 1m copies of his latest album to qualify for their charts.
The album was given away for free on Samsung phones in a deal that was reportedly worth $20 million three days before its official release date earlier this month.
Billboard didn’t allow those copies to qualify after editor Bill Werde voiced concerns about setting a precedent where future artists could simply buy the No.1 spot.
