Pop battles indie for the albums charts crown

The girl band's new studio set has shifted almost 26,000 copies in its first day of release, while Slipway Fires sold nearer 17,000, putting it behind both Girls Aloud and Pink, whose Funhouse (LaFace) last Sunday topped the charts ahead of Snow Patrol's A Hundred Million Suns (Fiction).
