Some of the leading female names in UK radio are looking to inspire others at a festival organised by broadcast group Sound Women.
Radio 4's Fi Glover and Anita Anand and Magic FM drivetime presenter Angie Greaves are among those taking part in the Saturday, May 18 event staged by Sound Women in partnership with the BBC Academy and backed by the RadioCentre.
The afternoon event begins at 1pm and will take place at the BBC Radio Theatre in London's Broadcasting House. It will mix speakers, music, poetry and comedy.
Sound Women founder Maria Williams, whose organisaion acts as a network and development group for women in radio and audio, said: “Our first Sound Women Festival will be about amazing people sharing their experiences - whether they’ve overcome hurdles, ripped up the rulebook or just come up with a brilliant idea. We want to inspire our audience to succeed - exploring all the possibilities out there, and revealing how to make the most of them.”
