Rdio has acquired recommendation platform TastemakerX, bringing the company's co-founders Marc Ruxin and Sandro Pugliese with it.

The move comes after Rdio ended its relationship with music intelligence company the Echo Nest - which was acquired by Spotify in March.

There is no news yet as to what Rdio plans to do with the service, only that it admires TastemakerX's capabilities for "building core products on mobile and web, enabling listeners to discover new music, build and listen to virtual ...
