Rdio to launch free service for mobile in US, Canada and Australia
Rdio is launching its free internet radio service for mobile in the US, Canada and Australia on Thursday.
The move capitalises on the digital music service’s recent agreement with traditional radio station owner Cumulus Media, which operates 525 radio stations in the US.
The streaming service will provide Cumulus with an online outlet while the radio company will provide broad access to its programming and promotion in exchange for a stake in Rdio.
