Simon Cowell: 'Beyoncé surprise album was a cool move, marketing is changing'

Simon Cowell has praised Beyoncé’s decision to release her latest album on iTunes without any prior marketing push.

The Syco boss and X Factor mastermind said the unorthodox release was “such a cool move” and suggested that “old fashioned marketing is truly changing”.

“We’ve been saying this for a while with One Direction — don’t push artists on people because they will decide for themselves if they want to share the news with others," he told Mashable.
