Smooth Radio to stage Liverpool concert

Smooth Radio is heading to Liverpool's The Pier Head for another year to stage its event Love Live Music On The Waterfront.

The Saturday, June 8 concert will be free and include performances from Nell Bryden, Jack Savoretti and Ledda Chapman. Last year's event attracted 20,000 people.

Smooth Radio group programme director John Simons said: "Last year’s Love Live Music On The Waterfront was such an overwhelming success, we just had to return to Liverpool to do it again. At Smooth Radio we pride ourselves on the calibre of artists we can bring to our listeners in our regular Love Live Music events, with Deacon Blue, The Overtones, Russell Watson and Will Young all performing for us over the last year. This, however, is set to be our biggest yet and will give thousands of people the chance to see some of Smooth Radio’s favourite artists performing live and for free.”

Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for culture and tourism, Councillor Wendy Simon, said: “We’re delighted this musical extravaganza is returning to our stunning waterfront once again. “It was hugely successful last year with thousands of music lovers making the most of the free live music in the unbeatable surroundings of our World Heritage Site."
