Sony/ATV has reached a settlement with the family of Marvin Gaye that will ensure the company isn't implicated in a legal battle between the party and the team behind Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines.
Thicke, plus fellow Blurred Lines songwriters Pharrell Williams and Clifford Harris, a.k.a. T.I., made a pre-emptive move to sue Gaye's estate in August 2013, after the Motown singers family publicly claimed Thicke's song copied elements of Gaye's 1977 record Got to Give It Up.
