Sony Music Entertainment CEO Doug Morris has signed a joint venture artistic development deal with the manager of The Chainsmokers, Adam Alpert, to form a Disrupter Management as well as a record label imprint.
Disrupter Records will sign artists and take a long-term view in developing them using direct artist-to-fan communications channels, Billboard reports. The deal allows Distrupter to take advantage of traditional label marketing possibilities by partnering with other labels within Sony, on an individual artist basis.
