SoundExchange’s payout to performing artists and record companies was up 8% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2014.
The PRO paid a total of $161 million to artists and labels, with the number of royalty recipients increasing by 34% to 22,343.
Despite the YoY growth, SoundExchange has seen a slight dip in pace, with its second quarter distributions down slightly compared to the previous quarter ($162.6m) and Q4 2013 ($170m).
