Spotify removes five-play cap in the UK

As of today, Spotify will no longer restrict its free users in the UK from playing individual tracks more than five times.

Removing the cap – which was introduced in April 2011 – brings the UK in line with most other Spotify markets. Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands and Spain had the cap removed in March 2012.

The time limit for free users in the UK still stands at 10 hours a month, as in most of those other countries. The US, Australia and New ...
