Spotify has promoted UK managing director Chris Maples to the role of vice president of Europe.

First joining Spotify in April 2011, Maples held a dual role as UK managing director, running the UK office, and European sales director. He was responsible for the overall development of the sales team, inventory and relationships with advertisers across Europe.

Although confirming Maples' promotion, Spotify is yet to outline his new role.
