A music school for 16 to 19-year-olds in Tower Hamlets is to open as part of 102 new free schools approved by Education Secretary Michael Gove (pictured).
The school is expected to open in 2014, and will join The Brit School as one of the only state-funded performing arts college’s in the country.
Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute of the Performing Arts (LIPA) also had its proposal for a creative arts primary free school in Liverpool granted.
