Taylor Swift’s latest album, 1989, has debuted at No.1 in the US – as well as claiming the largest sales week for an album since 2002.

The album, released on October 27, managed to sell 1.287 million copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

1989 was not added to streaming services upon release and her back catalogue was removed from Spotify yesterday.

The streaming service said it hoped the singer would change her mind.
