Any hope for a The Smiths reunion are dead in the water, according to a spokesperson for Morrissey.
Speaking in an interview with Rolling Stone (via NME), a Morrissey rep said: "This Smiths are never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever going to reunite – ever."
When asked why a reunion could never happen, the spokesperson added: "You'd have to ask Morrissey that. There's got to be a story there, and maybe one day it will be told."
Rumours have been rife of a possible reunion for years – which have stemmed from various quotes from the bands members.
On Monday (October 1), Holy Moly claimed that "several credible sources" had confirmed that the iconic Brit band would reform for four 2013 shows, including Glastonbury Festival.
Johnny Marr's manager Joe Moss told NME: "It isn't happening. We are fully focused on preparing Johnny's new album for release and booking shows for 2013."
