The Voice 2013 premiere down 2m on last year's ratings

The 2013 season premiere of TV talent show The Voice aired on Saturday (March 30) and brought in 2 million less in audience ratings year-on-year.

The programme, featuring a coaching panel consisting of Tom Jones, Danny O’Donoghue, Jessie J and will.i.am brought in an average audience of 6.2 million on the night, compared to 8.2 million for its 2012 launch show.

A BBC spokesperson said that it “had the highest peak audience of the night, with over eight million viewers”.
