Tim Minchin and Cyndi Lauper musicals lead 2013 Tony Award nominations
The 2013 Tony Award nominations have been announced, with Tim Minchin’s Matilda and Cyndi Lauper’s Kinky Boots leading the list.
Kinky Boots - a show adapted from a low-budget British film - has been nominated for 13 awards.
Nominations for the Cyndi Lauper-scored adaptation of the film include best book, director, choreography and nods to its two leading men Billy Porter and Stark Sands.
