TuneCore: $300m paid to artists since launch
TuneCore’s revenues have grown to $50 million in the first five months of 2013 says the company as the service reveals that it's paid out $300 million to artists since launching in 2005.
The numbers represent a 20% growth over the $250 million the online music distribution site had paid out by the end of 2012, according to Billboard.
Cumulative streams and downloads now reportedly exceed over 3 billion units, as of December 2012 there were 1.8 billion.
