Turtles move to block labels' SiriusXM payout, RIAA pushes back

Representatives for The Turtles have moved to block the $210 million payment SiriusXM has been ordered to pay to ABKCO and the major labels over the use of pre-1972 sound recordings.

Turtles bandmates Flo and Eddie, who first brought the issue to the courts, say that rather than the payment going to labels it should be paid into an account under the control of the courts.

They don’t have the support of the RIAA, however, which has issued a statement ...
