Universal closes jazz label Verve's UK office

The label was founded by Norman Granz in 1956, and was previously owned by MGM and Polygram.

Mike Bartlett of Universal/Decca told Jazzwise Magazine: "Verve will continue as a US-based label. We will be announcing some exciting new releases from them very soon. Decca will continue to work with the artists that were brought to the company under the Verve UK imprint."

Artists that will now move to Decca include new jazz acts Jodie Marie and Natalie Duncan.
