Universal denies freemium cut-off collusion with Apple

Universal Music Group has denied colluding with Apple or conspiring with the other major labels to bring an end to free music-streaming services from rivals like Spotify.

Apple Music has been the subject of an antitrust investigation by the attorney generals of New York and Conneticut, Eric T. Schneiderman and George Jepsen.

They have been trying to establish whether or not the company has been putting pressure on labels to stop supporting free services.
