Universal's Duncan Schwier admits stealing £650,000 from the major

Former Universal executive Duncan Schwier has admitted to stealing almost £650,000 from the major, pleading guilty to a charge of theft by employee at Hammersmith Magistrates Court.

Schwier syphoned hundreds of thousands of pounds from the company over 10 years in the production music division of Universal Music Publishing, The Daily Mail reports.

The scam was uncovered when Schwier was promoted last year and his successor John Clifford noticed large payments had been paid to fake companies.
