Universal to sell three music catalogues to raise $200m towards EMI deal

Universal Music Classical, the Koch catalogue and Brentwood Benson are all up for sale and are expected to raise as much as $200 million, contributing to UMG's goal of raising $680m in asset sales, according to the Financial Times.

Combined, the assets contain up to 200,000 copyrights.

The selling process is being run by Bank of America Merrill Lynch and has attracted interest from around 12 parties including US and European private equity firms and BMG Rights Management - ...
