Kanye West’s Yeezus hits the third highest opening sales of the year in the US to debut at No 1 on the Billboard 200.
However, the album’s first-week tally of 327,000 units was lower than industry predictions with upper forecasts suggesting it could sell half a million copies first week.
Despite the lower number, only Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience with 968,000 copies sold and Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories with 339,000 have got off to better starts in 2013.
