US digital music sales tumble in Q1

US digital record sales fell dramatically in the first quarter of 2013 - with track sales down 12.5% year-on-year and digital album sales falling 14.2%.

That’s according to Nielsen Soundscan figures via Billboard, which also show that combined ‘interactive’ music and video streams totaled 34.28 billion in Q1 2014 - a growth of 25.8% on Q1 2013’s 25.44 billion streams.
