US market experiences growth in music consumption

The US recorded music market experienced growth in 2015 thanks to the ongoing rise of streaming, but the market still saw a decline in physical and digital sales.  

According to statistics supplied by Nielsen Music covering the whole year, on-demand audio streaming grew 83% and on-demand video streaming enjoyed a 109% growth. “Total consumption, including sales, streams and track downloads, was up [in 2015], fueled by the continuous surge of streaming, which nearly doubled last year,” commented Erin Crawford, ...
