Vevo has opted out of having its videos available via the forthcoming offline-viewing feature set to be introduced to YouTube's mobile app in November.
Variety reports that, although Vevo is one of the top suppliers to YouTube, its videos will not run through the feature which will allow other content to be downloaded and played back offline for 48 hours.
A YouTube creator blogpost entitled 'Heads up about an upcoming YouTube mobile feature' was published last week and revealed news of the update. It explained that the new mechanism will mean that "your fans’ ability to enjoy your videos no longer has to be interrupted by something as commonplace as a morning commute."
It also said that more details regarding the feature will be made available on the blog upon the launch offline-viewing on the YouTube app in November.
