'We no longer need the old label system' - BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch

BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch has spoken following Bertelsmann’s buyout of BMG partner KKR, saying that the company has no intention to establish itself as a recording company with its own label – because it doesn’t need the old label system in the first place.

“We already make 15% of our revenues with master deals and this figure is set to increase considerably,” Masuch told Billboard. “So we no longer need the old label system.
