The X Factor suffered another blow to ratings this weekend as scheduling saw its Sunday night show go up against closing ceremony proceedings for the London 2012 Paralympics.
The Telegraph reports that Simon Cowell flew back to London this weekend to oversee the editing of the double-episode which overlapped with the Paralympics closing ceremony by half an hour, putting its already sliding ratings figures against strong competition.
Similar to last weekend, the television talent show saw a 3 million year-on-year drop in viewing figures this weekend with a combined 8.2million viewers, including those from the +1 channel.
The Saturday episode shed 400,000 viewers week-on-week, resulting in it being the least-watched show in the 2012 series so far.
