Microsoft last night unveiled its first new video games console in eight years, the Xbox One.

The technology giant might not fully get behind its description as a 'games console', however - it was clear from the presentation that it wants Xbox One to become a set-top box in the living room, offering a range of entertainment that will 'transform games, TV and entertainment for the 21st century'.
