The award reflects the best British debut album of the year, with previous winners including Glasvegas and The Enemy's debuts. Last year's winning album then went on to pick up the Nationwide Mercury Prize as well as The Guardian First Album Award.

From today, Xfm listeners can vote for their favourite British debut at www.xfm.co.uk/nma from a selection of albums released in 2010.
